This is the formula we use for stretching ground beef; adding some fiber to it. Although you could add more cooked cracked wheat, this formula is the one that my family accepts best......the wheat taste is hidden in the beef taste! And I am still being frugal without giving up taste/fiber/nutrition. Also will lower cost of the gr. beef you use.

1 lb. ground beef, uncooked
1 cup cooked cracked wheat (see how to cook in breakfast recipes)
Mix raw ground beef with cooked/cooled cracked wheat. Yields 3 cups of ground beef mix. [Usually we double this, using 2 lb. of gr. beef + 2 cups cooked cracked wheat; then we divide it into 3 even amounts (measuring 2 cups per amount) and freeze it]. Use it for any way you would use ground beef).
